This past Saturday we had the pleasure of working with Jessica and Doug who will be getting married on October 10th. The day started out not so good for both parties - Doug had a finger and hair issue, Cole and I were sweating from the typical Virginia hot and extremely humid weather, and to top it off we had a "slight" miscommunication with the Founders Inn. The day, however, quickly rebounded when we headed over to Regent University. Doug- you are a funny dude and we will have to keep an eye on you during the reception! I love people with a great sense of humor and this couple definitely will be a blast on their wedding day. Doug and Jessica - sorry for the mishaps. We had an awesome time and had some great laughs with you both!

Garrett Family
The Garrett Family was an awesome family to work with! The day I met Patty, Bill and John, they welcomed me into their home and I immediately felt that warm, comfortable vibe that you get when you are around nice people. They have a lovely waterfront home and a beautifully landscaped backyard. Patty contacted us to do a photoshoot for her son, John, before he went off to college. It was great working with John because he just seemed so relaxed and that just makes the day easier. The day ended with a couple family pictures and a quick stroll in their Norfolk neighborhood. Congratulations to John and we wish you success in your endeavours at VMI!

Krystal and Steven's Wedding
Well, well, well.... after taking vacation in July, it was back to work for Krystal and Steven's wedding. This wedding was very special to Cole and I because Krystal is Cole's sister. We've watched this couple grow from high school sweethearts to husband and wife and we are very proud of them today. My day started early with Krystal and the girls at The Image salon and then it was off to Macarthur Mall for their makeup sessions. The ceremony was at Baylake United Methodist Church which was a very gorgeous place. The real fun kicked off at the reception at Little Creek Naval Base with some good old "gett'n down". Congratulations to Krystal and Steven ......you two have made many proud! Also a quick thanks to Mike Kressel (our other teammate) for assisting me with the photography and equipment haul.

Towana and Allen's Wedding
We see a lot of emotions when we attend/work weddings and I would have to say that this wedding was quite an emotional wedding. The love felt from Allen as he wept during their vows showed how strongly he cherishes their bond. The look of his face as she walked down the aisle to one of his favorite songs was just priceless. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of their wedding and wish them a blessed future together. Special thanks to family members who assisted with the wedding coordination - staying organized with a wedding party of 20 people is not always easy.

Sarah and Josh's Engagement Session
We often work with people who claim they aren't photogenic. My goal by the end of the day is to show them that with a couple smiles and some fun, they will begin to think differently. Cole and I recently worked with Sarah and Josh at the Fort Story lighthouses and beach (if you have never been there, take a trip out there..it is awesome). I knew that Josh wasn't big into pictures and I was going to change that...at least for that day. After it was all said and done, I think the pictures speak for themselves...I don't see any non-photogenic people in these photos. I appreciate their patience with the "humid" lighthouse conditions and the warm weather. I truly had fun with Josh and Sarah and wish I could be there for their wedding. I would have loved to see how the dancing lessons turned out.

Maddy and Jordan - Almost 1
Well, I bought a new lens and wanted to test it out. I figured that Maddy and Jordan would be the perfect models for breaking in my new lens. Gosh, it's hard to believe that they are both almost at the 1 year old marker! The results are below....
Maddy wasn't very excited......every kid has their bad day.......

buuuuut eventually she cheered up....

Jordan did OK at first. No big smile, just the "What are you doing!?!?" stare.

Then it was snack time for Jordan and he gave me the "face" when I took pictures of him eating......

(sigh......) Such a successful test shoot. I still love them though...
